In this spin on the classic Negroni, a splash of homemade blueberry simple syrup adds a little vigor to the mix. Deep violet in color, blueberry simple syrup is just as intense in flavor as it is in hue. A touch of this sweet-tart little elixir provides a subtle, yet unmistakeable, new dimension to the drink. Need a little mid-summer lift? Stir up a Vim and Violet (AKA Blueberry Negroni).

This variation on the Negroni calls for blueberry simple syrup. Super easy to prepare, this incredibly versatile syrup is great for enhancing all sorts of things beyond the realm of cocktails...such as lemonade and iced tea, ice cream sodas, and a variety of desserts.

    Serve immediately.

Hint: In case you are unfamiliar with Cappelletti, it is a wonderful wine based bitter aperitif. The flavor profile is similar to Campari, but noticeably a bit lighter and more balanced. It is also colored naturally, instead of artificially, with carmine. Long story short, I highly recommend giving Cappelletti a try in your next Negroni....blueberry or otherwise.
