This radiantly red cocktail is a tequila based spin on the classic cosmopolitan. It is sweet, tangy, and delightfully nuanced. Made with añejo tequila instead of the usual vodka, and pomegranate juice in place of the cranberry, the cosmex makes a perfect pairing for your favorite Mexican menu. But it's also just an easy and immensely pleasurable cocktail for leisurely sipping all on its own, perhaps while enjoying a bit of warm weather lounging with the music of Mariachi Reyna De Los Angeles playing in the background. Salud!

The cosmex speaks summertime to me...but hey, if you need a little radiance of the cocktail variety in the middle of winter, so be it.

Garnish with a lime wheel and serve immediately.

Hint: I enjoy the rich flavor of añejo tequila in this cocktail, but reposado also works just fine here.
