A longtime signature drink at the legendary Beverly Hills Hotel (also affectionately known as the pink palace), the Pink Palace cocktail comes to us courtesy of the hotel's iconic Polo Lounge. It offers a lovely balance of sweet and sour, as well as a pretty pink hue. And this fruity concoction is just as refreshing as it is glamorous.

If you like your drinks in shades of pinks, then you may also enjoy a pink daiquiri or Glinda cocktail.

Instructions for a Pink Palace Cocktail

Pour the gin into a cocktail shaker.

Then add the orange liqueur.

Add the fresh lime juice.

Finally add the grenadine.

Toss a generous amount of ice into the cocktail shaker.

Shake until well chilled, and then strain into a coupe or Nick and Nora glass.

Garnish with a lime wedge, if desired, and serve immediately.
Hint: For best results, be sure to use quality grenadine. (I reached for the fabulous "cherry infused" version by Portland syrups here.) And if you'd like to adjust the sweetness of this cocktail to best suit your tastes, you can simply reduce or increase the amount of grenadine (and/or lime juice) included.
Top tip
When it comes to the specific type of orange liqueur used in this cocktail, the original recipe calls for Grand Marnier. But you can certainly opt for whatever orange liqueur you prefer. Cointreau is a much brighter option (which is preferable here, in my humble opinion), and dry curaçao would be another good choice.
