The Irish buck represents one of those magical situations where the simple meets the sublime. An easy mix of Irish whiskey, fresh lime juice, and ginger ale, it is practically effortless to prepare and utterly delightful to drink. And if you should happen to enjoy one too many of these refreshing little libations at your favorite pub or St. Patrick's Day party, you may find yourself galloping around majestically like a mythical white stag...worse things could happen. Sláinte!

If you are interested in recipes inspired by the Emerald Isle, you might also enjoy this Irish Stew with some Irish Soda Bread. Or if you have a sweet tooth, I recommend a slice of Chocolate Stout Cake or a wee glass of homemade Irish Cream.

Hint: The particular brand of Irish whiskey that you use to make an Irish buck will of course affect the ultimate flavor profile of the cocktail, but it is pretty difficult to go wrong here. Simply choose your favorite.
