This simple gin and lingonberry cocktail is a Nordic nod to that ever so famous vodka and cranberry concoction (or "vodka cran"), also known as the Cape Cod. And it's an equally fabulous combination. The irresistible forest scent and sweet tart flavor of lingonberries pairs especially well with botanical gins. And when lingonberry juice is hard to come by, cranberry juice and gin makes a similarly lovely drink.

If you love lingonberries, you may also enjoy the Red Riding Hood (AKA Lingonberry Martini).

Give a little stir and enjoy immediately.

Hint: When choosing your gin for this cocktail, a few good options include The Botanist, Plymouth, Tanqueray, or Monkey 47 Schwarzwald. (My favorite probably has to be Monkey 47, which features Black Forest lingonberries in its botanical mix.)

    Top tip

The gin lingonberry (or cranberry) cocktail makes a festive, and super easy to prepare, party drink for all those autumn and winter holiday gatherings. Garnish with a few lingonberries or cranberries, and you're ready to raise a toast!
