Red Riding Hood (AKA Lingonberry Martini)

The Red Riding Hood (AKA Lingonberry Martini) is a wonderful cocktail for kicking off the autumn season, and it also makes a perfect addition to any winter holiday table. This rosy colored little libation takes its inspiration from the classic Swedish drink Vargtass, or literally translated, "wolf's paw" cocktail. Traditionally consisting simply of vodka and lingonberry juice shaken with ice, it's a drink that is not for the faint of heart. Delicious...and fierce. With the addition of a little sweetness to the mix here, courtesy of blanc vermouth, this variation is a martini style drink that delivers just a slightly less ferocious bite.
