½cupmaple syrup
½cupsoy sauce or tamari
2teaspoonsfresh garlic, minced or grated
2teaspoonsfresh ginger, minced or grated
kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper
8six ouncesalmon fillets(preferably coho or sockeye)
Instructions
Set an oven rack about 6 to 8 inches below the broiler, and then preheat it.
In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce (or tamari), garlic, and ginger until the glaze is well combined. Set half of the glaze mixture aside in a separate bowl (for spooning over the fish when served).
Arrange the salmon fillets on a foil lined baking sheet. Season with salt and pepper. Then brush half of the glaze evenly over the fish.
When the broiler is ready, place the salmon in the oven and cook for about 7 to 10 minutes, or just until flaky and opaque throughout.
Serve the salmon with the reserved glaze spooned over the top.
