Champagne Cocktail
Featured prominently in the iconic film Casablanca, the first recorded mention of the "champagne cocktail" actually goes all the way back to the 1800's. In other words, this is a tipple that has been around for a very long time. Not nearly as old as the cosmos perhaps, but sure feels like drinking a glass full of stars.
Ingredients
- ½ teaspoon sugar (or a small sugar cube)
- 2 or 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- ½ ounce Cognac
- dry Champagne
Instructions
- Place the sugar in a coupe glass and add the bitters.
- Pour in the Cognac.
- Top with chilled Champagne and serve immediately.
