Ingredients
1cup blueberries, frozen or fresh(cultivated is fine, but preferably wild)
½cupwater
½cupsugar
1tablespoonfresh lemon juice
Instructions
Place the water and sugar into a small saucepan.
Over medium heat, stir until the sugar has dissolved. (This will only take a few minutes.)
Add the blueberries and lemon juice. Give the mixture a quick stir to combine.
Turn the heat down to medium low and simmer the mixture undisturbed for about 10 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the mixture to cool for at least 30 minutes. Then strain it through a fine mesh sieve to separate the remnants of the blueberries from the syrup. (The berry remnants can be either repurposed or discarded.)
Pour the syrup into a small jar or bottle and refrigerate.
